Perché riciclare è così importante?
Secondo la definizione della legislazione in materia, per rifiuto si intende “qualsiasi sostanza o oggetto di cui il detentore si disfi o abbia deciso o abbia l'obbligo di disfarsi” . Questa definizione potrebbe indurre erroneamente a considerare il rifiuto come un bene destinato naturalmente ed inevitabilmente ad essere tale.
In natura non esiste il concetto di rifiuto!!!!
La natura ha un ciclo chiuso, dove tutto ha un ruolo utile a qualcosa.
L'uomo invece ha un ciclo aperto, che produce scarti non riutilizzabili.
I rifiuti hanno una lunga durata prima della loro scomparsa, anche quelli biodegradabili.
I rifiuti organici impiegano circa 2-5settimane
I fazzoletti di carta 3mesi
I giornali da3-12mesi
Il chewing-gum 5anni
Lattine di alluminio 80-100anni
Gli pneumatici 100anni
Una bottiglia di plastica 450anni
Una bottiglia di vetro 1 milione di anni.
E' molto importante quindi cercare di ridurre la produzione di rifiuti.
Possiamo agire su più fronti:
1)La Riduzione: promuovere l'uso di contenitori riutilizzabili e non usa-e-getta. Ridurre la quantità di imballaggi, soprattutto se multimateriali.
2)Il Riciclaggio: dare nuova vita ai materiali separati attraverso la raccolta differenziata
3)Il Recupero energetico: produrre energia dai rifiuti mediante il loro incenerimento
4)Lo Smaltimento: destinare all’ incenerimento senza recupero energetico e alla discarica solo ciò che resta dopo le precedenti azioni.
Why is recycling important?
As defined in the legislation, waste is understood as "any substance or object which the holder discards or intends or is required to discard". This definition might mislead the refusal to consider waste naturally and inevitably destined to be discarded.
In nature there is no concept of waste !!!!
Nature has a closed cycle, where everything has a useful role to something.
But man has an open cycle, which produces non-reusable waste.
Waste has a long life before their disappearance, even biodegradable ones.
Organic waste takes about 2-5 weeks
The tissues 3 months
The newspapers from 3 to 12 months
The gum 5 years
Aluminum cans 80-100 years
Tires 100 years
A plastic bottle 450 years
Glass bottle 1 million years.
It 'very important to try to reduce the production of waste.
We can act on several fronts:
1) Reduction: to promote the use of reusable containers and single-use disposable. Reduce the amount of packaging, especially if multimaterials.
2) Recycling: give new life to separate materials through recycling
3) Energy recovery: to produce energy from waste by incineration
4) The Disposal: allocate all 'incineration without energy recovery and landfill only what is left after the previous actions.
